I'm unsure how we can take people's words for what they say when we all operate from a huge set of biases and social conditioning. I laugh when people insist that they KNOW someone is a bad person because of what they said. Really? Condemnation is an epidemic right now.
I'm not in direct contact with any Trump supporters but if I were, I'd be willing to be reconciled with them if they could provide one rational and defensible reason why they would associate themselves with someone so personally disastrous who is doing so much harm to the country damage that will take decades to repair, to the extent that it can be repaired at all. So far, I have yet to see anyone make that case. And the same goes for the Trumpified Republican party as a whole.
